Our Welcome Back BBQ is a community fundraiser as well as a celebration of Rideau’s 10th anniversary, and we need lots of helping hands to make the day a success!
Whether you can give an hour, bake something, help set up or take on a larger role, we’d love to have you involved.

Teen Volunteers

Need volunteer hours for school? Students in Grade 9 and above are especially welcome to help:

  • Try Gymnastics / Demo Station
  • Face Painting
  • Bake Sale Table
  • Popcorn/Food stations

Yes! These hours can count. Fundraising Committee Chair Tierra Baker can sign volunteer-hour forms/logs for participating students.

Other Ways to Help

Can’t volunteer during the event? There are lots of other ways to contribute. Your contribution will also count towards your volunteer hours.

  • 🍪 Bake Something
  • Or buy (we won’t tell) and donate a nut-free treat for our Bake Sale.
  • Spread the word, share our social media post about the event to everyone you know!
  • Making candy cones
  • Donating Supplies (napkins, plates, etc)
  • Decorations (disposable tablecloths, etc)

Local Sponsorship

We’re reaching out to local businesses for donations of food, supplies and services to help support the event in exchange for advertisement at our event. 

If you know a local business that may be interested in contributing, we’d love your help making the connection.

Consignment Sale Volunteers

Your role is simple: help keep the table organized and make the process easy for families.

Sellers will bring pre-loved leotards and workout gear already labelled with:

• Their name
• Asking price
• Email address for e-transfer

As a volunteer, please:

• Help families place their items on the table
• Keep items neat and organized as people browse
• Answer basic questions about how the sale works
• Remind buyers that payment goes directly to the seller, preferably by e-transfer
• Help make sure items are not accidentally taken without payment
• Direct any questions or issues to a Rideau staff member

Think of it as a friendly garage-sale / honour-system setup. Rideau is simply providing the space and helping facilitate the exchange. Rideau does not collect or distribute any money.

At the end of the event, help keep any unsold items organized for pickup.

Please note: competition suits are not included in the consignment sale.
