Q: What happens if the class is cancelled?

Classes are subject to cancellation, rescheduling, or combining as needed pending enrollment.

Holiday Closings – All scheduled holiday closings are listed on the enclosed Calendar, and are included in the program year class tuition calculation.

Inclement Weather Closings – Occasionally, for the safety of our Students and Staff, we must close our facility due to inclement weather such as snow, sleet or ice. All unscheduled closings will be announced by email, on our telephone recording, and will be posted on the Rideau Gymnastics Centre website by 8:30 am. In the event of a class cancellation due to issues that are out of the club’s control (i.e. inclement weather), a make-up class will not be scheduled.

Coach Absences – In the case of an unplanned coach absence, with no other coaches to substitute, the class will be cancelled. Make-up classes will be made available. You may schedule a make-up by calling or stopping by the front desk. If you schedule a make-up and are unable to make it, please call or email to cancel. Classes not made up within the month will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to the next month.

Q: What is appropriate to wear/bring to a gymnastics class?

In order to participate safely and functionally in class, students must be properly attired. Gymnasts are welcome to wear gymnastics suits, shorts and t-shirts, or any form of comfortable active wear which is free of strings, hoods, zippers, etc. Please ensure that clothing is not lose or baggy, as this makes spotting difficult and could prove to be a hazard to your child. Gymnasts should have bare feet, however, gymnastics shoes or water shoes are accepted. Rings, bracelets and necklaces may not be worn in the gym at any time. Please refrain from allowing children to wear hoop or dangling earrings. Small stud earrings are allowed. Hair must be tied back so it cannot touch the eye area.

*Socks or tights with feet are not permitted. They are slippery on various equipment and therefore potentially dangerous

Q: Can I, as a parent, come into the gym and take pictures during the class?

Parents may take pictures (with no flash) and video from the parent viewing areas. Photography and video in the gym area allowed only with the coach permission.

Parents are welcome to watch their child anytime in our parent watch area. Complimentary internet access is available.  Our viewing area will be crowded during busy class times and we ask that everyone be mindful of your surroundings. For safety reasons, you must always provide proper supervision of your children while in our facility.

Rideau Gymnastics is not responsible for any items lost or stolen on our premises. We cannot guarantee the security of personal items left in change rooms during classes and we do not guarantee that lost items will be found. Therefore, please leave all valuables at home.
