Our Boys Artistic Gymnastics classes are 1.5 & 2 hours in length and organized by age groups (6-9 and 10+ years). These classes follow a structured format which includes a warm-up, cool-down and a rotation on 3-4 events per class. On each event, circuits, stations or drills are used to teach and practice gymnastics skills as well as increase strength, flexibility, and coordination. Our coaches use the CanGym system to guide and evaluate skill progression as well as to group students into appropriate levels as class size increases. The beginner badge levels (burgundy, red, tan and bronze) will use all of the women’s and men’s events to learn and master skills grouped into dominant movement patterns: landings, swings, springs, rotations, static positions, and locomotions. The intermediate badge levels (purple, blue, turquoise, and silver) will progress to more advanced (orange, yellow, green and gold) skills which are specific to men’s artistic gymnastics events/apparatuses: vault, rings, high bar, pommel horse, parallel bars and floor.
